This series was shot in the Fall of 2006, as the final project for my studio photography class. The only criteria for the project was that as students we needed to demonstrate control over light. I decided that rather than shoot in the studio under hot lights, I would shoot on location and use a combination of non-traditional lighting techniques such as flashlights and multiple strobe exposures. I worked with the subjects, all close friends, to create images that expound upon their character. For many of the images, I traveled to the subjects' home cities to shoot.
